What an absolute bargain these radios are. When put to a comparison test with my Motorola T6222 radios these Binatones just had the edge.
The Motorola T6222 was held as a bench mark for PMR 446 radios by many. An excellent radio in many respects and they have been around for a long time. They were a very expensive radio when available.
When I did a comparison over a line of site range of some 10 miles, yes 10 miles, I live in Yorkshire and there is line of site between Holme Moss and Emley Moor of 10 miles or more, tested on the same day between these points the Motorolas just worked, lifting the squelch and giving a slightly noisy signal whilst the Binatones easily lifted the squelch and gave a slightly cleaner signal.
The Binatones are really nice, have a lot of calling facilities, look very professional and are exceedingly cheap. The build is flimsier than the rugged Motorolas but not adversely so.
They have a 9th channel facility, with the radio turned off press in and hold the up and down buttons then switch the radio on. Hey voilà channel 9.
They get top marks from me on price, looks and top performance communication wise.
