This is Billy Connollys first new live DVD in over three years. Taken from his fantastic 'Too Old to Die Young' tour in 2005 it features the hilarious New York show. This is the first time one of Billys shows has been filmed in the US even though he has been touring there for over 30 years. Absolutely classic stuff from the Big Yin.

Format:DVD
I fully agree with mrdarkdiamonds review. I was really looking forward to sitting down to this dvd and laughing all the way through. Unfortunately it seemed more like a compilation of old jokes thrown together with no real conviction behind them. I love Billy Connolly and was excited about this dvd, but i'd heard the majority of it before. Granted there are a few new jokes, and a couple of laughs, but it's just not up to his usual high standard. All in all a bit of a let down.

On first watching this DVD did not do it for me. I thought that perhaps Billy had lost a bit of his spark but then on second watching many of the quips and stories are original and directed at the American audience. Very enjoyable but not quite as good as the old Billy.

This show started off nicely, but unfortunately I wasn't laughing very much after the first 20 minutes had passed. I guess after 3 years since the last DVD I thought that we might get some new material, I sometimes don't mind hearing reminders of old stuff (already available on previous dvd's), but when in this case it isn't so well delivered I find myself a little bored. The show also seemed a little rushed for me, and I got the impression that Billy Connolly himself was maybe a little bit bored of his audience and perhaps the tour as well. I give three stars because, as a sort of fan, I do like listening to the guy speak and tell stories, but as I was hoping to have a good laugh for an hour and a half, but instead was left feeling a little bereft, I couldn't possibly rate it any higher. Three stars at a push.

Entertaining
