I have the Tae Bo box set from years ago and since it feels pretty dated, and I didn't want to get bored with it, I decided to buy a couple of newer releases. So I bought this and
Billy Blanks' Cardio Inferno [DVD].
This Is Tae Bo is a more modern Tae Bo workout but it has all the traditional Tae Bo moves. There are fewer people on the floor (Shelly is still there, of course) and everyone counts out loud, which was a bit off-putting at first but eventually I got used to it. The workout itself is about 45 minutes long and there is also a separate instructional section that you can access from the menu screen. I think this is probably best suited to people with either some experience of Tae Bo or who are reasonably fit. Initially I thought 'this isn't as tough as the older workouts' but about 15 minutes in I thought I would collapse. This workout is tough but it is also fun and a great way to get cardio and strength training (using your own body weight) in one workout. Billy is as enthusiastic and encouraging as ever.
I usually follow it up with some stretching on my own afterwards because I think the cool down sections of all the Tae Bo workouts are too short and I don't want to tighten up too much. I'm really glad I bought this. If, like me, you don't feel like you've worked out unless you're dripping by the end then this is definitely one for you to try.
