Fantastic,

My very best favourite track is 'The Secret Life of AJ Lewis', which on a dull day with misery afoot, never fails to cheer me up. The rest of the album is solid, quality stuff with some really fantastic guest appearances from people such as Loleatta Holloway and other such luminaries. It's laid back, it's funky, it makes you want to groove.

A fantastic album and a real winner.Funky beats and lots of ingenuity and a diverse collection of musical styles from classic 60's pop n soul to breakbeat-driven new funk. Catchy and every track could be a single! Buy it and love it.

the sound of summer,
By A Customer
This review is from: Billion Pound Project (Audio CD)
did a review before but it seems to have got lost!there are some great tunes on this album - i've only heard it a few times but already they seem like classics there's big voiced soul diva-ing with Bettye lavette complemented by a funky, chunky backing there's silky smooth vocal dexterity from Dave Jay on Looking Up there are nods to supremes era girl groups, 70's cop show themes, troggs, the animals, small faces and even elvis costello it manages to pay tribute while adding a freshness that makes this an album of the moment the sound of summer..... get it to warm you up this winter
