I have a wonderful job of being invited in to peoples homes to help them set up their computers, AV and general gadgets. Along the way I'll be asked which bit of kit is best for wifi, switching etc, so I generally "road test" most kit at home before I put my name to a recommendation. As is the case with the Billion BiPAC P108 500 Mbps starter kit. Most people are not that interested in the "tech" side of kit, all that they would like to know is "does it do what its supposed to do..." in the case of the 2075 - yes its does.

In comparison to the AV 200's I had been using, these homeplugs allowed faster access to the Smart TV hub, loaded the likes of BBC iPlayer without so much as a flicker, and didn't falter with any of the HD content. At the time of this experiment my ISP was providing me with 6mbps from the headline 10mbps supposedly available.... I also happily streamed my FLAC music files via the Ethernet pass through on my Sonos, coming from a Synology Hard Drive via the 2075's, all while the other half watched another cookery program re run! All in all - a fine piece of kit

These extend your internet using the home electric system and are ok to give you a cat 5 cable connection in your house. Never gives 500 as promised as the wiring degrades the signal as all the wires around the house lose it the further it has to travel and through main fuse boxes and other connectors. But it is ok and better than no internet at all in a largish house. With thick walls and furniture etc which blocks the wireless signal.

The photo clearly shows two-pin European plugs which is what we wanted for use in Spain. However, they were delivered with three-ping, square, UK plugs. Had to be returned which was a complete waste of time. I see that they are still shown as European plugs so Amazon have learned nothing by this mistake.

I already owned the Billion AV200 model and hoped the AV500 might offer some benefit. As goos as the product is, the actual throughput was more or less the same. This may be due to the conditions in my property limiting the effectiveness of the AV500, but nevertheless, my experience suggests that there's little point paying extra over the AV 200.

This is a great way to extend your Ethernet reach without running long cables everywhere. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Since using the Bipac P108 kit and an additional 2075 in January I have had no trouble at all with my broadband to my PC and television. Prior to this the signal strength to my PC fluctuated considerably. The staff at Billion could not be more helpful on any technical issue and replied the same day to any e-mail I sent. I would certainly recommend this product and the Company.
