Already had Bikram's Beginning Yoga Class and found it to be the best yoga book ever [IMHO]. I think this one equally good and fills in any missing pieces. Actually made me want to rush to my yoga mat. Benefits benefits benefits!
Fabulously informative. It's wonderful to know the benefits of each asana without having to wade through mountains of dull and dry text. I've always practically ignored savasana, and never will again! The background info; history of , science of etc is also very readable. I hadn't realised how much, in certain cases, yoga has been changed for westerners, and only relatively recently.
Osho said to never trust a guru without a sense of humour. Bikram has fab sense of humour, passion for yoga, the knowledge and the descriptive skill to make this read like a novel...
Even the parts of the book that describe how to do each asana are enjoyable and interesting.
I've been meditating for years and love it and wouldn't dream of missing a day. However, I can often get lazy about yoga asanas and pranayama. This book has changed all that...
It's impossible [for me anyway!] to absorb Bikrams' passion and knowledge of the marvelous benefits of the asanas etc and not be super keen to do them.
As with any book I've read didn't agree with every single bit, that would be a bit sheep like! But I gained enough valuable knowledge and was entertained enough for this book to be worth the money many times over!
Get it, and if you don't agree with me you can always put it straight onto Amazon marketplace!
