Brilliant Biggles,
By
This review is from: Biggles and the Black Peril (Paperback)
I bought the book for my son, who's a confirmed Biggles fan, but it takes me back to the age of 12. Wonderfully politically incorrcect and all the better for it, Biggles sticks it to the Hun.
It makes me nostalgic for a simpler age when a stiff upper lip and the 'right stuff' would overcome all problems. Long live Biggles!

Biggles and the Black Peril is a super adveture story. Set after WW1, Biggles is out on a 'joy ride, lands in fog and becomes involved in a race to save the country from invasion.
This is the first Biggles book to feature 'Ginger'. A must have for all Biggles fans!

A Suspense Filled Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Biggles and the Black Peril (Paperback)
Well this book took me by surprise because the last Biggles book that I read was set during the war. This one was not, and immediately my interest was aroused because I wondered how the story would unfold. From the very beginning I was intrigued because for a start the plane that Biggles and Algy were flying was different, a seaplane, which was very interesting indeed. I found that the description of their adventures was amazing, especially the first desolate spot they were forced to land in. It was very well done and left the reader in suspense and wonder. As the story went on, I found that it got more and more exciting, and I was also surprised when we were introduced to Ginger, one of the main characters in later books. He was very likeable and I admired him very much in it. The story had lots of locations, and lots of things going on which I found brilliant, and the way that things happened made me full of suspense. It was very unpredictable which was very cleverly done. I liked it very much.
