5.0 out of 5 stars black blues meets white blues 18 Dec 2002
By Koos
Format:Audio CD
Recorded in january 1969, "Biggest thing since Colossus" is probably one of the most underrated bluesalbums.
It's Otis Spann on vocals and Piano, backed by his own drummer and three Fleetwood Mac members: Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and John McVie.
During the sixties, there was the English blues boom, containing many bluesbands, One of the finest Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac.
On "Colossus" Peter Green has reached his peak: Guitarsound is great, playing is excellent, listen to "My love depends on you" and the "Temperature Song", a perfect slow blues song.
Looking for an album that contains a perfectly mix of black blues and white blues? Go get this on.
Otis Spann loved Peter Green's guitarplaying as much as drinking Bourbon. This album declares why.
Amazing performance, as bluesalbum one of the best around.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peter Green's Finest Moment 13 Dec 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This set recorded in 1969 captures Peter Green at the very peak of his powers. I can't begin to describe the tone and spine tingling perfection of his playing on this record. An absolute must for all Greeny fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great blues album 9 Dec 2009
Format:Audio CD
This is a fantastic blues album. A couple of songs are slightly marred by wah-wah guitars being a bit too loud in the mix, but overall it's a fine album, and worth getting for the sublime version of "Ain't nobody's business" alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big Mac 3 Feb 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I have loved this album for years and have replaced aged vinyl. This is a collaboration between the great Chicago pianist Otis Spann and the core of Fleetwood Mac, one of the British blues bands that really got. Spann is in fine form and it is a showcase for the brilliance of Peter Green, whose delicacy and taste are on display. It's lots of fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fascinating Session 6 Jan 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
When Fleetwood Mac toured the USA, their producer set up some recording session with some of their heroes and this set doesn't disappoint. Otis Spann is great, Peter Green is great and Danny Kirwan is great. What's not to like?

5.0 out of 5 stars Magical 4 Jun 2014

Great reproduction of the original - seminal mix of sounds from Otis and FM. Excellent vinyl quality - a pity the cover is not a more luxurious gatefold = but it is as the original
