It was about time that Cryptozoology author and investigator Loren Coleman sat down and wrote a complete book about Bigfoot, and here it is !

Coleman has researched the subject well, and as a result, he has produced a detailed, well written book on the subject based on facts (as well as a little speculation), and even broaches the controversial subject of 'Sex and the Single Sasquatch' with a little humour.

This is a great book, and if you have the slightest interest in the subject, then this book should be added to your colelction without delay.

Loren Coleman has written a serious work in this little book. It is crammed full of facts about the American apes and he has approached his subject as one who has spent his entire life in the study and quest for these creatures. A firm believer himself, however, he does not ram his convictions down his reader's throat. He gives us the facts and also the arguments against - given the large amount of hoaxes and ridicule he and other serious men of science have been subjected to when investigating this contravertial subject. The Russians do not treat this subject of homanids in Siberia with levity, but treat the subject seriously. In America it seems to offer great oportunites for commercial enterprise.
Let's be honest about it, there is no reason why a vast country like the USA should not have its own species of apes - a cross between the apes we are all aquainted with and humans. I found his nchapter of the Skunk ape of Florida particularly interesting - a species of Orangutang. There is no reason why their ancestors have not been released into the wild some years ago, perhaps from a zoo that went bust during the depression or something such like.
All in all, I enjoyed this book and did not lose interest in it. It was not over the top or sensationalist, but is a serious starting point for anyone with a genuine interest in this subject who does not regard it as a source of amusement.

An excellent Book for anyone interested in the North American Ape known as Sasquatch gives a potted History from the Legends early beginnings upto the present, and gives a short Guide to anyone in a position to look for themselves, all in all a good read well worth the money ! Mike Brogan
