I am a relatively experienced cook, I own stacks of cookbooks, but this is one of maybe three books I use most.

My yardstick for a good recipe book is making 6 recipes or more. I've made twelve recipes so far, and many of those recipes are in rotation for being made again and again. I've served the food to omnivores and vegetarians, and everyone comes back for seconds. The day before yesterday I made the middle eastern cous cous with dates and almonds and the tortilla soup. Tonight we're having artichokes al forno.

The instructions are clear and work. The recipes are tasty. This is exactly what a cookbook should be. Highly recommended.

I can't recommend this book enough. It's fanatstic with a great layout, modern with good stylish pictures of dishes that look tempting to make and eat. The food itself is just what I was looking for, fresh and healthy but hearty food that I would be proud to serve to any guest, carnivorous or not.
I've only been a vegan for 3 months and have already bought a fair few vegan cook books, many of which were bought with great reviews from Amazon but unfortuantely I've found them to be of the 'hessian sack' variety of vegan cookery (I'm sure many people will know just what I mean by this). Big Vegan however has managed to create a lovely balance of dishes with soups, salads, sides, snacks, mains, pasta, risottos, pies, tapas, meze, desserts and baking, the book is not too tofu heavy and doesn't rely too hard on health food shop ingredients that are both expensive and often hard to find, instead it uses fresh everyday ingredients.
I originally bought the kindle version but quickly exchanged that for the paperback and I'm so glad I did, it's a huge book that will be used again and again in my household, it's also a joy to read through and be inspired.
I'm looking forward to trying out some Spanish Tapas dishes this weekend with a selection of friends, carnivors and vegetarians and see if they notice the missing dairy, i don't think they will.

I scrutinised many books on amazon before choosing this book. The book is very comprehensive and I will spend many happy hours experimenting with the recipes.

However, I have rated the book 3 stars for two reasons. The book has hardly any illustrations. Personally it helps me when I'm cooking if I can see what the food should actually look like. Secondly, the author writes that she is reaching out for a global market. As a British consumer, I find that many of the ingredients are a mystery to me and it is not always easy to find equivalents.

Perhaps my views of the book will change with use and I become more familiar with contents

I bought this a few months ago for my Kindle and since then it's been my most used cookbook. There are a great number of delicious recipes for the price, covering a wide range of cuisines. Everyone is sure to find something that they'd enjoy in here. None of the recipes are too complicated or fussy, but all of those that I have tried so far have tasted great. Highly recommended.

We've been cooking from this for two weeks and have loved every dish. I'm finding it especially great for weeknight cooking as most of the recipes don't require a huge amount of prep time, but are still delicious. I'm not vegan-as-a-lifestyle but I really enjoy a lot of vegan food like this, which is straightforward and relies on fresh, simple ingredients (and is often a lot cheaper than recipes involving animal products!). My favourites so far are the arepas with black beans and the watermelon and tomato salad, but I haven't hit a dud recipe yet.

I became Vegan on the first of January this year, and this was the first of many books on the subject I have bought. This book is brilliant, it really covers everything. It is packed full of recipes. I have done heaps and they have all been great, and there are still hundreds left to do!
If you are new to Veganism this is the book for you! IT shows you a new way to eat and cook, using foods and methods I knew nothing about before!

Some good ideas but too many recipes with containing Gluten and Fake meats, I think for it's size it should have had better content.
