I am a massive fan of The Killers and Ronnie in general. Was surprised when i first heard about this solo effort and didn't know what to expect. Turns out Ronnie is a lot more talented than just a Drummer. as he plays the majority of the instruments on the record, as well as lead vocals (which are a little in-coherent at times)
The three singles released before the album, 'Getaways'; 'No Whiskey' and 'The Next One Living' were great, though sounded very different so wasn't sure how the album would sound when put together.
Surprisingly, it flows very well and has a consistent sound. Highlight for me is the opener, 'Katzenjammer'. 'Under Water' is very catchy. Can see this being my rock album of the summer. A very 'feel good' record. Has what i would call a 'Sam's Town-esqe' sound to it, very instrumental, whereas Brandon Flowers Flamingo effort sounded a lot more like Day & Age (Mainly due to the fact that Stuart Price produced a lot of it)
Highly recommended album. Top tracks for me are Katzenjammer, Under Water, Getaways and Replica.
