Product Description

Product Description

The first edition of this book was one of the first ever written by a collection of internet bloggers. Iain Dale and Guido Fawkes run two of Britain's most read political blogs and they invited their fellow bloggers and blog readers to contribute to the book, which details more than 140 instances of New Labour sleaze since 1997 - cronyism, nepotism, sex, money, drugs - you name it, New Labour have been at it. Charting the fall of New Labour, from the heights of the 1997 election victory to the depths of John Prescott's diary secretary, the book has now been fully updated to include even more sleaze: Peter Mandelson's Mortgages; Ron Davies' 'Moment of Madness'; David Blunkett and Nannygate; Bernie Ecclestone's Donation; Loans for Lordships; John Prescott's Cocktail Sausage; Lord Irvine's Wallpaper; Margaret Beckett's Air Miles; Cherie Blair's Freebie Holidays - Tessa Jowell's Mortgages; The Dodgy Dossier; Stephen Byers - Jo Moore Burying Bad News; Derek Draper and Lobbygate; Badger Watching with Ron Davies; Cherie Blair Signing the Hutton Report; Gordon Brown and the Smith Institute; Cherie Blair's 'lecture' tours; Gordon Brown's Spinning Addiction; and many more...

5.0 out of 5 stars Light hearted and entertaining take on a serious subject., 2 Jun 2009

Light hearted and entertaining take on a serious subject. Should be read by all disillusioned ordinary people. I thought John Major's government was bad, but this lot since 1997 takes the biscuit, and illustrates eveything that is bad about our ruling elite. Read it before the next general election!

5.0 out of 5 stars New Labour = Old Tory, 9 Dec 2009
This review is from: The Big Red Book of New Labour Sleaze (Paperback)
If even half of this stuff is only half true, it makes you wonder how they've survived in office for so long. Clement Atlee must've drilled himself halfway to Adelaide by now as these venal baboons desecrate the socialist vision in the name of self aggrandizement and a barley concealed rush to join the ranks of the moneyed classes they spent the previous 18 years pillorying. Don't read if you're an easily depressed socialist.
