Its ok... mine does not actually shoot rays... but it does hold coffee... arrived broken but easy fix... maybe that's why it does not shoot rays anymore

It's a Novelty Mug 18 Mar. 2014

Cracked the first time it was used because of the heat of the coffee poured into it. It isn't broken yet, but it seems like it will only be a matter of time. Looks cool though, affordable fun gift, was a big hit with my husband, he likes to use it at work like a big dork.

Not So Good 14 May 2013
By Carol Miller - Published on Amazon.com

Although I love the concept of a ray gun, the quality is poor. It was not properly glazed. Also the legs had holes in them on the inside. A slit for each leg like they took the sides and pinched them closed but not all the way. Made in China, I don't think I would trust drinking out of it since the glazing was poorly done. I returned this item.

best cup ever 12 Mar. 2013
By mangoegiraffe - Published on Amazon.com

ok, i would be lying if i said this was the most high quality made teacup i have ever used.... but just look at it. i will be washing it by hand and taking good enough care of it that i continue to giggle like a 5 year old every time i drink a cup of tea in front of the tv and point it at my gf making "pyeeeww pyeeeew" noises, for years to come.
Cute, But Fragile 28 Dec. 2014

I bought this mug for my sister for Christmas. She works at one of the 10 NASA centers in the United States and space-themed presents are always a good gift for her. I was really excited about this mug, but it was broken when it arrived. No problem. Got a refund on the product.

You should probably know that this mug is BIG. It's the width of 2 regular mugs, since its handle sticks out so far from the body. The cup is huge and holds a fair amount of coffee. My sister liked the mug in general. It's a good gag gift. But all of the parts sticking out of the body makes the cup that much more fragile. If it weren't already broken upon arrival, I would imagine that the little fins would be easy to break. It's a cute mug, just maybe a little bit "much." I might recommend you buy one of the other mugs with less stuff sticking out.
