Review

The gentle illustrations and evocative text combine to make a story of sadness and yearning, but in the end, real pleasure (Carousel )

A heart-warming tale…the story is well written, with mystery and excitement, and a wonderfully happy ending. The beautiful illustrations are highly atmospheric, and it is the perfect tale for a cold wintry night (School Librarian )

The story has a poignant innocence, as well as a heart-warming ending. The bold illustrations enhance the text beautifully. (www.booktrustchildrensbooks.org.uk )

Product Description

There is a creature lurking in the deep, dark woods. Something big… something hairy… One crisp, bright night a little girl hears his sad song. She follows his huge snowy footprints deep into the darkness of the forest. Cold and shivering, she becomes lost in the falling snow, far from home. Suddenly, from behind a tree, she spies a large, hairy face with gentle eyes. It is Big Foot. From acclaimed writer and illustrator, M.P. Robertson, comes this heart-warming story of an unusual friendship.

M.P. Robertson has written this wonderful book and illustrated it as well! The pictures are beautiful; the words are fantastic - altogether it is excellent; but one bad thing was that, the author has called the full moon a fat moon and I didn't really like that much. I would rate `Big Foot' 7/10 and would recommend it to children aged from two to six years of age. Here is a bit about the book: a little girl met Big Foot, on a full-mooned night, who was very lonely. She became his friend and they played in the cold snow - they ice skated, sledged down a steep slope, they had a snowball fight and Big Foot made a Snow Bigfoot. They had lots of fun but then it was time to go home...

Daughter thought it was just "Okay." 20 Oct 2011
By Charles Darwin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
My daughter became obsessed about Bigfoot this summer and wanted to read all about it/him/her. We did some research for our dad/daughter camping trip/Bigfoot quest that we did this summer and got this book before we left. She was pretty excited to read it because it was about a little girl and Bigfoot - just like her! However we read it one time and she hasn't gone back to it. Her response to whether she liked it or not was, "It was okay."

The trip was great though.
