A friend gave us this book upon the birth of our second child and I'm sure it made a substantial contribution to the fantastic relationship which my boys have with each other. It helps the older child to understand that they have a significant role to play in guiding the younger child;'Big Brother knows why,' or as we say: 'You're his teacher!' but that the younger child will also be able to support them when they are going through tough times: 'Little Brother knows why.'
Get it for a friend who has just had their second child. By the way, Penny Dale-or some other budding author-needs to write "Big Sister, Little Sister", "Big Brother, Little Sister" and "Big Sister Little Brother" to cater for the other relevant groupings! But even if your friend has a boy and a girl or two boys, the principles of the story in this book are still relevant! It is also good for the middle child of 3- we now have three boys and my middle son is proud to be both a Big Brother AND a Little Brother!
