Seen everything before.,

The sad thing about getting this book is that I have seen all of the pictures before because they are on the Internet or can be found on the very catalogues from the companies that sell the marijuana plants covered in this book. So this book gets one star from me because it has nothing new at all. This is just one giant seed catalogue that is poorly organized, unoriginal and is money I should have spent elsewhere.

I liked it, but...,

I ordered all three of these (still waiting for the other two) but my first impressions were mixed. Sure it had details of the major Dutch seed companies' products, but I felt it lacked such interesting info such as the THC levels and growing difficulty of each, along with some pointers for growing each strain and any problems they may be prone to. While I would agree somewhat that the info in the book is like that available at the official websites of the seed companies involved, it does make for an interesting read, particularly if you're going to the coffee shops in Amsterdam, so you know what to ask for. If you are looking for help with growing a particular strain, this is not the book for you. However, if you're into all things cannabis, it is interesting from a "so much variety in one plant species" point of view. This is not a growers guide, more of a connoisseur's handbook.

This book does exactly what it says on the cover - it describes some of the best marijuana varieties from the most well known seed breeders.Sure, you can find all this information on the internet, but this book condenses all the info on all the varieties into a very nicely presented volume. As well as descriptions of the varieties themselves there are quick references for things like buzz (of which there are many different kinds), flowering time, parent plants, sativa/indica dominance, indoor/outdoor etc, making it very desirable for those who wish to grow cannabis. As well as all this information you get information on the breeders themselves, and on the history of cannabis and its use throughout the world. I found some excellent what strains that I will definately be trying out in the not too distant future.
