Product Description

The four Queens of the Galaxy ride again! Three years, four galaxies and a zillion zany adventures after the release of their debut of their debut album 'Bostin' Steve Austin' the mighty We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use it!! returned to Earth from their extended hiatus on the planet Lovely, with this their second coming - 'Big Bang!' The first single launched from the album, International Rescue [UK #11] rocketed its way into the the UK single charts and a new age of Fuzzbox begun. Gone were the mohair jumpers, day-glo hair and socalled "musical ineptitude" that had first enamoured them to the world, replaced instead with co-ordinating military style uniforms, a refined glamour and a slick Fairlight production style, whilst still retaining their unique charm and wit. The accompanying promo video for International Rescue, directed by comedy genius Adrian Edmondson (The Young Ones & Bottom) became an intergalactic hit upon its release, fueled by its Thunderbirds meets Barbarella sci-fi action theme, and Fuzzbox we're beamed into the homes of millions of TV viewers across the land, becoming instant media darlings in the process. Fuzzbox were go!

I used to have this on cassette way back in 1989 and played so much it snapped, when I saw this reissue I had to have it as I hadn't heard it in years.
This reissue has excellent full sound and the songs sound better than ever, also there is lots of bonus material that's only been available on vinyl, so to have all the 12 inches and 7 inch versions is fantastic.

Go on and buy this wonderful album by a very underrated group.

Four very classy Brummies recording a pacey, fun to listen to album you need in your CD collection - if you like music with chords, mature and intelligent lyrics and class.

'Big Bang' had four singles released in 1989, and all of them at least good. However, the best track on this album is, arguably, 'Fast Forward Futurama', a slick and fast song with a brilliant vocal performance by lead singer Jo Dunne.

It's not a masterpiece, as there are one, possibly two filler tracks on the album, but the bonus CD containing all those wonderful 12" single extended mixes and b-sides make this 2CD package a must for anyone who wants to listen to as much great music as they possibly can - myself very much included...

Big Bang a Change in Style 10 Jun. 2013

Much more polished-sounding than their first album, but (perhaps) not as much fun. Great listening though. And I was very surprised/shocked to read that Jo (their guitarist) had died. Wish I could have contacted her somehow to say how much I liked their albums + "Radio Fuzzbox". Sorry about the loss of your sister, Mags...wish I could have known her. She had real talent, as did you all! Only "fault": no liner notes/commentary from one of the band members, like Tina in the expanded CD issue of the first album.
How's family life been treating you over the years, Tina???
