For some of us the likes of Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee will be forever Doctor Who. More recent fans will know Sylvester McCoy as the time traveller. This documentary is his visit to the set of the new movie, where he had a pivotal role of pasing the baton to his successor Paul McGann. The concept was set to relight the franchises fire and promote a revival of the cult show, incorporating ideas from the original series with US budgets and film-making. Whilst the movie was hit and miss with fans and newcomers alike, this makes a fascinating piece of almost home movie-making. McCoy is as always an entertaining host and makes the whole thing move along briskly, whilst keeping the viewer involved in the process. This is exactly the sort of thing the DVD of the movie should have featured as an extra.
This is superb for any older fans of the show and a great introduction to the series highs and lows for anyone who wonders just what all of the fuss was about.
