5.0 out of 5 starsAs good as it gets!7 July 2000

I purchased this book yesterday and was impressed immediately. The book has a lot of excellent tips on every aspect of MTB. Another added bonus is the drills it has to help to develop increased riding skills. The tips are set up to gradually build confidence as you progress. The tips by some of the pros Overend and Susan Dematte for example are great. If you are looking for a book to help with all aspects of MTB this is the one to get. I will be recommending this book to friends and that is for sure.

I prefer the other Mountain Bike Magazine's "Complete Guide to Mountain Biking Skills", which has better illustration/pictures to show you how the situation looks like.

Ben Hewitt had a light yet informative way of writing. This book covers many basic mountain biking techniques and even though I have been riding for 25 some odd years I found the book to be a great review of those skills. It is also a fun and entertaining read no matter what your skill level.
