Fantastic insight into cycling and cyclists 9 Mar 2008
By Dr K - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Perfect Paperback
Jerry's travel anecdotes are more than travelogue and cycling memories. While his journeys take the reader to a variety of stunning locations, he reveals a compelling cast of cycling characters. These stories are not just one man's cycling experience. They are one man's view of social cycling. We meet Jerry's cycling buddies and see how the different backgrounds, motivations, and experiences have turned a solitary exercise into a fun pastime. If you are thinking of taking up cycling, or taking your cycling in a new direction, this book is a must-read.
Everyday Joe, You can do it too 20 Nov 2010
By CS - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Perfect Paperback
I just finished a good cycling, touring, journey, adventuring autobiography book if anyone wants to borrow it. It's not a conventional read, but more like a diary of days or a blog read. I found it very entertaining, plus I would be lying if it wasn't part of the reason I rode from Austin to Houston over the holidays.

Here is the blurb I said about it before starting it -

"The book is Bicycle Journeys with Jerry; it's about a local guy from Round Rock, TX who is your everyday Joe that in his retirement decided to make cycling his main hobby. He accounts his cycling journeys from riding across the US to following the Tour de France. The thing that really pulled me in was reading the prologue and first chapter and thinking wow this guy sounds a lot like me and he has completed goals that I want to do (cycle across the US). So I am really looking forward to getting into it; his webpage."

And here is who the author describes as his target audience -

"My real target is the recreational cyclist who might ride the neighborhood during the week and take a long ride on the week-end, or who participates in charity rides fairly close to home. That was me. I had fun doing that. The cycling vacation is just the next step or two up. The rewards are many."
