Haiku is a poetry form based on sounds in language, Japanese language. Attempting to do this in any other language does not work. However we still like to do this. This book, as explained, is a series of Haiku based on one man's cycling journey. It comes across as something that was put together without too much thought as to what was trying to be, or could have been, achieved.
Might sound harsh but could have been worth a lot more if a serious attempt had been made.

HASH(0x98e63f48) out of 5 stars Great idea with a problem. 17 July 2011

I enjoyed the process of trying to read the text in about half of the Haiku, that's the problem! The idea is a great one, the sketches all make sense when related to a bicycle journey and the daily nature sees a progressive improvement in the sketches. The but, is that you cannot always read the handwritten haiku mainly because the handwriting changes from day to day. Interesting book. Would like to be able to give it a higher star rating. Cheers.
