This is a MUST HAVE for potty training parents! My nearly 3 year-old son is not remotely interested in standing up while he goes yet, and is very intimidated by public potties. (Who isn't?!) I ordered the Potette, hoping he'd warm up to it eventually. (It took a while for him to get used to a second training potty in our other bathroom at home.) He took to the Potette instantly!
It comes with a plastic bag that has a drawstring closure. In that bag, I put the Potette, a bag of liners (they come 30 to a bag), some flushable wipes, and a bag of nappy sacks. (The nappy sacks come in handy for wet clothes if he has an accident.) Then I put that bag in a reusable grocery tote with a few changes of clothes for those times he has accidents. I carry this with me EVERYWHERE. It's always in my car, and unless I'm at work, it's with me.
We've used the Potette at church, in a shop, at the grocery store, at the playground, on the side of the road, on the beach, at historic houses, on the Brighton Pier, you name it! I've already been through one bag of liners, and I've only had it about a month.
It's built solid, only takes a second to pop up, and is just super easy to use.
The only thing I'd make parents of boys aware of is that the lip of the seat is really small, and if they sit to pee, be prepare for some splashing. I've had to teach my son how to help his little guy point down to avoid creating messes. Sometimes the messes still happen. But overall, I'd say it's still well worth it to have a potty he's willing to use!
He loves using it. He calls it his "froggy potty" because of the absorbent pad with froggies on the bottome of the bag. The few times I've been out and have forgetten the "froggy potty" have not been pretty! I can still manage to get him to go, but it's such an ordeal. He's so much more comfortable with his little travel potty.
I'm so happy I purchased this. It's made potty training so much more managable when we are out of the house. Worth every penny! Would recommend it to any mom I met!
