Product Description

"He who knows only one religion knows none."—Prof. Max Muller.
"The same thing which is now called Christian Religion existed among the Ancients. They have begun to call Christian the true religion which existed before."—St. Augustine.
"Our love for what is old, our reverence for what our fathers used, makes us keep still in the church, and on the very altar cloths, symbols which would excite the smile of an Oriental, and lead him to wonder why we send missionaries to his land, while cherishing his faith in ours."—James Bonwick.

The subject of religion is one of the most explored areas in literature evoking emotional responses that touch all faiths. The Doane book is unparalleled in its presentation of the evolvement of myths and legends into the sacred texts used by numerous religions to establish their separate identities. One learns that no faith was derived from whole cloth but was woven, and therefore borrowed, from cultures that both preceded them and contemporaneously surrounded them. It provides a fascinating insight into the development of belief systems that have contributed to the development of mankind and its relationship with the spiritual. The massive array of footnotes move the text away form commentary and into the relm of a finely prepared scholarly thesis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christians, pls read 9 Jun. 2011
Format:Hardcover
This is a good book. All Christians should read this book to understand origin of their religion. This book clearly explain how much pagan religions have influenced Christianity. After reading this book only I understood, today's christianity celebrations like christmas, easter and other all are not original christianity. what they are doing all are from Pagana religions. Original teachings of Jesus (peace be upon him) are not followed by Christians. This Author has well analysed all the issues like History of Cross, Bible, Status, Christmas and Easter etc. very bad quality binding. It is between Hard and Soft back cover. Paper size is bigger than actual book size. Small fonts. Some are not readable.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book that really exposes the phoniness of all the major religions. 9 Mar. 2014
By Philip Alexander - Published on Amazon.com

This book exposes thoroughly how the world has been duped by religion. All the major religions: Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc. are all basically rehashes of the same old stories (told thousands of years prior) - by the ancient Sumerians.

Next time you think you're praying to 'your god or gods', in actuality you are praying to the Sumerian gods. And who are the ancient Sumerians? They are a race of Satan worshiping reptiles that are running the world today! They have been using their religion as a tool to control the masses for many thousands of years up to today.

If you think I'm kidding or crazy, then I suggest you read David Icke's book 'The Biggest Secret'. In it he explains brilliantly the real agenda of these reptiles and how religion has played a part in it. All you need is an open mind and the ability to connect the dots.

Have a nice day!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE MYTHS ALL CHRISTIANS SHOULD KNOW !!! 26 April 2010
By Davi Goncalves - Published on Amazon.com

I, DAVI GONCALVES, AS A FORMER CHRISTIAN MINISTRY, B.TH.,M.Sc., M.D., Ph.D., WHO HAVE READ SO MANY BIBLICAL COMMENTARIES, WHO HAVE PREACHED SO STRONGLY THE CONTENT OF THE BIBLE, I'D DREAM TO MEET EVERY BELIEVER THAT HAD HEARD ME, TO TELL THEM ALL I HAD SAID WAS NOTHING MORE THAN OLD MYTHS WITH NEW FLESH. AND TO RECOMMEND THIS BOOK WOULD BE THE MOST ELLEGANT WAY TO CONVINCE THEM OF WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT... Bible Myths And Their Parallels In Other Religions -
