5.0 out of 5 stars A treasure. 7 Jan 2014

Exquisite and profoundly musical performances of a favorite composer by Wedman and her Tafelmusik colleagues. I keep returning to these CDs; more satisfying every time.

5.0 out of 5 stars One word: miraculous 19 July 2013

The Mystery sonatas are a miracle with an unusual purity of sound. Miss Wedman really prepared herself in different ways to achieve that performace, she really walked the extra mile. The documentation is more than first class, a wealth of knowledge and information on technical, musical and musicologist aspects. Her dutch violin's sound surprises immediately.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cisco systems engineers know their stuff 3 Aug 2011

I am a poor audiophile (don't know many rich ones) but always look for music that challenges my home grown system. Running a Pioneer Elite 7.1 receiver with a bi-amped center channel. Have a 40 inch magneto planar center speaker with a kaptan film planar tweeter and 6" mids. The two front main speakers are 4 way reference monitors with an additional 6 inch magneto planar and my own home made crossover. A 10 inch ported sub that goes deep and hits clean (great bomb explosions and the Tron tracks shake my pants leg). So on this setup the Mystery Sonatas recorded by Sono Luminus played GREAT - very well detailed, great sound stage and the ambient sounds of the fingers on the strings and other very soft sounds were bell clear. Two of the founders of the multi-billion dollar CISCO Systems started this recording company with the goal of making exceptional recordings - Try it you'll love the sound. As everyone knows - an audiophile listens to the technical excellence of his equipment - the musical pieces are appreciated only on the second listening. GREAT product will buy more from Sono Luminus - Bravo!
