I just finished Bianca's Vineyard and loved it! I highly recommend this book and I will be buying several copies for gifts. I'm not a history buff, but I admittedly enjoy a good historical fiction such as this. It's about love, family, hardship, war, and bonds that survive the trials of life. This book will lift you up and transport you to Tuscany, Italy during WWII where you'll meet the Bertozzi family, up close and personal. The book follows this real family in Italy and in the U.S., as one member immigrates to Minnesota. I was profoundly moved by the level of intimacy provided into the Bertozzis' lives and captivated by the colorful descriptions detailing the geography, emotions, and wartime events the author weaves into the story. So much so, it was difficult to put the book down and go to bed. A must read in my opinion.
