After approximately 3 to 4 weeks of use, the handle came off the jug as I took it off the stove. Hot coffee poured down my front (fortunately I was in my dressing gown, so I was able get it off quickly). The falling pot then caught the edge of the stove and the jolt caused a whirling spray of hot coffee all round the kitchen. If we had been a household with small children, I hate to think what might have happened.

This is a very fancy looking Bialetti, makes good coffee and it is nice, but it is not as good as the previous Bialetti Moka I had before: Bialetti Moka Express Espresso Maker, 6 Cup

Since I've changed my hob to induction, I had no choice but to buy this new coffee maker and I'm satisfyed with it, but again, if you don't have induction hob, I recommend the Moka above, although it doesn't look as good as this one.

I purchased this item because I had owned this type of coffee maker when I used to camp years ago. I always enjoyed the wonderful taste of the coffee it produced. We now have an induction hob at home and gas in the caravan where I spend a lot of time and wanted the opportunity to make good espresso coffee in both locations and I have now found the wonderful answer to producing excellent results everytime whether at home after a dinner party or travelling Europe in the caravan. It is easy to use, clean and store. The only negative is you have to be careful on gas not to have a high flame as this will discolour the base.
