Product Description

'Daily Post'

"as pop star Gareth Gates has proved, stammering can be successfully overcome... you too can use the same programme as Gareth... the McGuire method."

'Junior', August 2003

McGuire's theory is thorough and practical. It's also honest.

A Stammers Bible 5 Jan 2006
Format:Paperback
I think the most important thing to mention first is that this book is entirely written by a stammerer, therefore has an insight I have not previously seen in a book. It is brutally honest about what you need to do to control your stammer, and if you follow direction...it does work! Strong words, but the mcguire programme did indeed change my life...

I have just got this book and read it after hearing about the Macguire programme.

Just reading the book and digesting some of Dave's insights has been extremely helpful in improving my speech and my attitudes towards it. I will go on the course soon, when I feel ready and have saved up the cash.

Also, you might find reading this along with "Feel the fear, and do it anyway" is useful. It will be scary, but it will be worth it I'm sure...

This is a great holistic approach to overcoming one's stammer. It is unique in that it is a program involving people that stammer helping other stammerers to recover. It uses a more objective approach by developing the sports analogy to improving your skills with practice. It details a specific plan of action, and provides many inspiring stories from fellow recovering stutterers. It aims not just to improve one's fluency, but reaches for the lofty goal of eloquency in speaking. I highly reccomend it!
