A common-sense approach to achieving success in one's life offers workable, step-by-step methods and positive visualization techniques to help readers personalize goals, trust creativity, transcend old beliefs and limitations, and transform positive thinking into positive action. Original published in 1988 Berkley Publishing under the title of "The Advanced Formula For Total Success". For 13 years it continued to sell under that title. In 2002 Berkley Publishing discontinued publishing "The Advanced Formula For Total Success". As soon as it went out of print, it became a collector's item with copies selling for up to USD100 per copy on the Amazon.com used books marketplace. In 2003 Dr. Anthony decided to update the book and republish it under the original name of Beyond Positive Thinking with an introduction by Joe Vitale.

If you read a lot of self improvement books and find the same information presented again and again, try Robert Anthony's material. All the newer "gurus" like Anthony Robbins and Joe Vitale blatantly took Robert Anthony's material and re-wrote it, but badly.

There may be a few typos & repeated phrases in this book, but it's straightforward, easy to read, and is well-written (unlike most of the more modern hype).

This book is an entirely new approach to changing old ingrained patterns of thought. Positive thinking, says Dr. Anthony, doesn't work. How true that is. How often has it been recommended and tried. Dr. Anthony has a new approach that actually works and is very simple, but requires constant monitoring of your moods and self-talks. A little vigilance and practice it all that is required. It works!!

I have read many life-improving books over the years by many different authors. I would say that this book is the ultimate self-help book and if you practise it's principles, you will, indeed, change the way you see things and ultimately improve the quality of your own life. It looks as if the current popular life coach authors have used Dr Robert Anthony's ideas.

This is a good book. It helped me to realize how much negativity i was feeding myself daily. Once i switched my thinking i noticed a huge change in my life. I have this book on CD being read by Joe Vitale. Joe Vitale was one of the guys from The Secret book and DVD. If your into the Secret and it's philosophy, then you will like this book because it goes into much more detail than the Secret does and doesn't make it sound like a new age, revamped, money making sham. It really is not all about money.
thats why i like this book better because its main focus is not always money.
