Product Description

Book 1 of The Prometheus Wars saga.

"You will get so sucked in that won't realize sitting down to read a chapter ends up being 'just one more' over and over again." -- 4.5 atoms out of 5 -

""Luke Romyn's no holds barred, extraordinarily imaginative, mythic sci-fi fantasy series, The Prometheus Wars, blows the mind."" -- Toplist - Best Fiction Books

What if mythology isn't myth? The ancient Greeks told fabulously detailed stories involving unbelievable creatures - monsters dominating all tales from that time. Were they just highly imaginative, or was their inspiration from somewhere else?

Doctor Talbot Harrison, a professor in archeology, receives a phone call one day which will destroy everything he perceives as reality. His brother has been mysteriously killed and within moments the United States Military appear at his door, literally dragging him from his home. Thrown into a helicopter under intense armed guard, it doesn't take long until they are attacked by something which cannot possibly exist, something drawn to destroy the one man who can stop the beasts from a land beyond Hades....

"Couldn't put it down!... I was on a wild ride and am excited to read more from this truely talented author." -- Xsvblonde

"Move Over Stephen King!!... I am happy to put Luke Romyn at the top of my favorite author list. I can't wait for his next novel." -- Avid Reader

"What a ride!... Highly recommend this book to anyone that likes to escape into another world, or to anyone that simply loves a great read!" -- Ness05

About the Author

Luke Romyn spent many years, over seventeen in fact, working in the security industry. From door work in some of Australia's roughest pubs and clubs to protecting Mickey Mouse and the Disney crew from the overzealous jaws of tenacious toddlers, Luke has worked throughout Australia and internationally in a vast array of roles. He's done close protection for UK celebrities in Fiji and chased feral pigs and snakes out of the jungle film sets on Steven Spielberg's and Tom Hank's epic: The Pacific. There are few things Luke hasn't seen. With all this experience behind him, it would be tempting to write a set of memoirs. Instead, Luke utilized it to fuel his own expansive imagination and began writing fiction. Initially starting with short stories, Luke rapidly progressed onto novels. His first book, THE DARK PATH, has been a Top 20 Bestselling Horror on Amazon and was also voted in the Top Ten Horror novels of 2009. BLACKLISTED, his second novel, saw his writing divert slightly away into the action-thriller genre while his third, BEYOND HADES, sees the world plunged into a horror unleashed from mythology from which only one man can save us... if he stays alive long enough.

More About the Author

Luke Romyn was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1975. His life since reads like something out of his novels: heavily entrenched in personal trauma, action, thrills, and adventure.

For over two decades, Luke has worked in the security industry; from bouncing in some of Australia's roughest pubs and nightclubs to protecting Mickey Mouse and the Disney crew from the overzealous jaws of tenacious toddlers. He's been bodyguard for celebrities internationally and chased feral pigs and snakes from jungle sets on Steven Spielberg productions. Luke has traveled the globe and spent time in some of the most amazing locations the world has to offer.

This experience fuels the Australian writer's ever-expansive imagination, and he pours it into his novels, combining fact with fiction, history with fantasy, delivering engrossing action-thrillers which leave fans gasping for more. Luke's quick wit has seen his social media following explode, and he is currently one of the most prolific social media celebrities in Australia, with several hundred thousand followers across the internet.

Publishing his first book, The Dark Path, in 2009 saw it voted in the top 10 horror novels of that year, even though Luke denies ever intending the novel to be classed as horror. Luke Romyn is now one of the most popular indie authors in the ever-growing eBook market and personally completes everything from cover art to final formatting, working tirelessly with editors so as to refine the best stories possible for his readers. The results are international bestsellers you're certain to love diving into. Hundreds of thousands of readers can't be wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! 10 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
To say I enjoyed this book is an understatement. I LOVED it! I found myself checking the progress bar at the bottom of the page on my Kindle and hoping there was still loads left to read.

I then found myself wondering how there could be so much left to read when there had already been so much action!

I'm a big fan of movies like Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans so this book was a perfect read for me.

There was enough description of the people and places to enable me to see everything clearly in my mind. I was swept into the different worlds and felt the pain of the rift right alongside Talbot and Wes.

I can't wait for the next book in the series. As soon as it's released I'll be having it sent to my Kindle :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling from start to finish 1 May 2012
By Gerrard
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a thrill from the very onset, once started i couldn't put it down until i had finished and that for me is the mark of great writing, the story starts off at a great pace and maintains that till the very end, great characters who develop throughout the story and the plot itself is fantastic, i'm trying not to give away any details of the story itself but this is a must read, if you like Stephen King books you will love this, Luke Romyn takes you on a journey through several worlds introducing you to an endless stream of wonderous characters with non stop action and an epic battle what more could the reader wish for. Five stars all the way from me highly recommend in fact i have just purchased Luke Romyn's other 2 books and can't wait to get stuck in.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Idea, pretty good execution 14 Oct 2012
By MarkOne
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed reading this book. The idea - Greek Mythology being based on misreported real events - is inventive and appealing. An approach not unlike the way that Bernard Cornwell looked at the Myths of King Arthur.

The action flows along nicely with plenty of twists and turns. Yes, there were a few cliches and some stretching of coincidence, but it made for an enjoyable, undemanding read.

The characters lacked development but, as the first book in a series, maybe that will come later. All in all, Beyond Hades is not great literature but serves very well as a way to pass the time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just a little confusing 22 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So many things, entities, gods, myths in doorways, dimensions, being killed by one or two amazing Australian men. Hmmm... I quite liked the starting out, but then got bored with the endless classical confusions.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant journey into a new world. 4 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the first Luke Romyn book I read and I was hooked by the first page. It starts out fast paced from page one. I had downloaded the second book by a quarter of the way in! The blend of modern and myth combined with brilliant characters, you know who I mean Wes, and a very new twist on who all the Greek Gods are. Great plot and a must read.
You will be desperate for more and just as well you have Slaves of Valhalla to follow up with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Escapist fantasy 26 July 2014
By Tramps like us VINE VOICE
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this book. It doesn't let up on the action from page 1 on. As a holiday read and for entertainment value it is up there with the best in it's genre ( whatever that may be - scifi or fantasy or a mix of the two).
It is pure hokum but well written. I'd compare to Matthew Reilly in style.
Whether I want to read another one is debatable but this is a good book and pretty cheap on Kindle

Brilliant funny and surprisingly educational book, but in a way you take it in, in a non educational way. Would make a great movie, if they stick to the script.

3.0 out of 5 stars Aproaching Reasonable....
This novel is based on a good (if fashionable) premise but is very derivative; if you have read widely, you will recognise many of the key ideas. Read more
