Book Description

20 July 2005
According to the ancient calendars and mythology of the Maya, the world as we know it ends in 2012. What are these prophecies, and how reliable are they? How many other cultures share the predictions? What should we really expect in the year 2012? The answers to these questions and more can be found in BEYOND 2012, the most comprehensive guide available to the theories behind what many believe could be the most pivotal time in modern history...

For over twenty years, Geoff Stray has been investigating the year 2012 as a time of potentially massive significance for humankind and planet Earth. This investigation has revealed that several civilisations across the world have calendars, myths, prophecies and visions connected with 2012. Will it be global catastrophe or spiritual transformation? Discerning and detailed, BEYOND 2012 is a must-read for anyone striving to understand the predicted transition, the importance of our times and what it all means for humanity.

With a foreword by John Major Jenkins, BEYOND 2012 includes over 200 illustrations, plus a selection of colour plates, and it is arranged in four parts: Ancient Calendars and Prophecies; 2012 Theories; Beyond The Veil; and Diagnosis. With 22 chapters, a large notes and references section, bibliography, index and three appendices, this is a thorough investigation into the meaning behind the year 2012, which is the time when the 5,125-year 13-baktun cycle of the Maya comes to its conclusion.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2012 MADE EASY 26 April 2010
Format:Paperback
My wife wouldn't put this down each night for a fortnight; until she had digested this comprehensive guide to all things 2012. Author Geoff Stray investigates the apparent coincidences of various ancient scriptural and other predictions; and methodically sorts the wheat from the chaff. He debunks the myriad flawed theories, whilst highlighting those that stand up to scrutiny. Even sceptical readers will be taken on a journey of mental stimulation; maybe even enlightenment...

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible 21 Jan 2007
Format:Paperback
This is one of the most well researched books I have read, certainly regarding the subject of 2012. It pulls together threads from many different places and shows how they correlate with each other. It's like a direct injection of knowledge, giving a great knowledge base to move forward from, and cutting through some of the more 'floaty' theories out there. I have absolutely no hesitation in awarding this book 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone who wanted a crash course in the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! 24 Sep 2007
Format:Paperback
2012 is a topic with a lot of diverse and sometimes silly opinions, but this book is different. It tackles the bull by the horns in the most objective way possible and is by far the best researched book on this topic I have come accross. From past religious prophecies to present researched opinions; from Eastern philosophies to Western dogma - it all neatly ties together in a thought provoking conclusion.
