No fancy words needed to tell you what a great album this is.
When it was released, I rated the debut single "Promise Me" the best chart debut in the UK for 20 years, since the Carpenters "Close To You". I still think that.
Ms Craven's breathy voice is a charm, her songs are simple and about everyday things, the hope of love, girlfriends, dogs, even! Different styles of music, including a gentle reggae number, played by a bunch of top class musicians from the world of folk and pop - and an excellent closing number is "Missing You".
The album has aged well and sounds as relevant today as it did when it was released. It just a pity that she only produced two more albums, which were not as good, but still highly satisfying.

Soaring vocals, superb melodies and deeply meaningful lyrics carry you along on a sea of emotion. Every track is unique, every one is a gem and they will all last forever. Miss Craven is an incredibly talented artiste deserving of a far wider audience. I cannot recommend this album more highly, it is a masterpiece.

Unlike many female vocalists, her voice doesn't grate on the nerves--she has a wonderfully mellow tone. The blend of styles on this CD is interesting, ranging from ballads to the quirky, New Orleans flavor of Missing You. I love this album. I just wish her work was readily available in the States!
