Fiona's previous bestsellers, French Relations, Kiss Chase and Well Groomed were well received by the critics: 'Sunshine, a garden chair and the latest Fiona Walker novel - what more could one ask?' Coventry Evening Telegraph 'A rollercoaster of emotional tangles that are vintage Fiona Walker' Bolton Evening News 'Romps along with plenty of self-deprecating wit' Sunday Times 'irresistible ... a pacy tale that keeps you turning the pages in breathless anticipation' Company 'Simmering sexual tension and steamy escapism. A perfect companion on those sizzling sands.' Daily Mirror 'Fast, fun and furiously entertaining' Birmingham Post 'Turn down the lights, get yourself a drink and settle back for a belter of a tale, for this is an author who remembers what so many of the current lot forget: you can't go wrong with a really good plot.' -- The Express 'If you're looking for an un-put-downable holiday read, this is it' -- B 'Pure, gorgeous, expertly constructed escapism.' -- Minx 'Fiona Walker pulls out another blockbusting delight with this sexy and pacy saga of dinner dates and pub meals... Wow! Wow! Wow 26 Sep 2005
Format:Paperback
This is the first book I've read by Fiona Walker, and I'm now sure that it won't be the last.

As with the other reviews on this page, I must agree that the book started off quite slowly, and I did not think that I would ever finish it. HOWEVER, something happened about 1/4 of the way through, and I could not put it down. I think this was around the time where the author introduced us to 'Jimmy', and around the same time that I fell in love.

From then on I was unable to put the book down!!! I even grew to really like 'Odette'.

If you're thinking of reading this book, please do. Stick with it, (even through the first few chapters), and you are sure to enjoy it as much as I have.

I've been finished 'Between Males' for two days now, and am actually missing it. I hope there will be a sequel.

Some of the reviews on this page, I feel are really exadurated and too harsh.

Go Fiona!!!

Between Males 8 July 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I've always enjoyed Fiona Walker's books but first started Between Males back in 2000 and was really disappointed with it - I read 100 pages and couldn't carry on. There are far too many irrelevant characters in the early chapters, the heroine behaves erratically and inexplicably (not to mention the on-off Cockney accent which really grates) and I found the whole storyline totally unrealistic.
Now 3 years later, I decided to give the book another try, got through the first few chapters and am enjoying it far more with only a few pages to go. My advice to anyone reading this book is to persevere through the beginning - it is worth it in the end when the storyline becomes clearer.
Not a patch on some of her earlier books though..

Worth waiting for. 3 Oct 2000
Format:Paperback
I have been a fan of Fiona Walker's since I read Snap Happy and ever since i've been hooked, eagerly anticipating her next book - 'Between Males'. This book was well worth the wait, I was hooked and read it in three days. I loved the way that sometimes you wanted to shout at Odette and tell what was staring her in the face. I think its great how Fiona brings all of her characters from her other books into this story in one way or another. This allowed me to catch up on how they are all doing. The ending . . . what a surprise! But, i'm not going to tell you what it is you'll have to read it for yourself. It was fantastic I can't wait till the next one comes out

A con!
The plot of this book is just plain silly. Fiona Walker normally comes up with amusing characters and situations but this time it seems that she could not be bothered. Read more
