I had never seen or heard of The Audreys until I saw them supporting Karine Polwart. Usually I would walk out after the first number but this band was amazing. It's very difficult to fit them into a particular genre; not quite country, not quite rock, not quite folk and not quite punk.

The lead singer Taasha Coates's voice is like velvet. The album is one of those CD's you just can't remove from your music station. Stand out songs are 'Oh Honey', 'Banjo and Violin', 'Nothing Wrong With Me' and the haunting ballad 'Long Ride'.

This is truly one of the best albums I have bought this year. Go see them live if you can - trust me, you won't be disappointed.
