Perhaps you have dabbled in horse-race betting and discovered that you lose as often, and probably more often, than you win. This short and friendly little book sets out some of the basic tips (no pun intended!) for survival in the racing jungle. Did you know, for example, that 70% of racehorses never win a race? Makes you think. This book may not make you rich, but after reading it you will probably enjoy battling with the bookies a bit more. Essential brain food for any half-serious punter!

A good read 16 Feb 2012
If your interested in betting on the gee gees then you should find something of interest in this book. I think with a little tinkering you could build a useful system with the aid of this book. I would say on the whole this publication is well worth the money.

I used to read the Daily Mirror daily, but the paper became negative in my opinion. I still decided to purchase this book about a year ago, and it had helped me seeing certain betting things from a different point of view. Most things are written like you've got no idea how a bookmaker looks like, but inbetween those bits some very handy info can be found. I've only read this book once, as I continued to create my own personal strategy, but this book helped me on the move.

One very important thing for any wannabe punter: in the book states to always check on Mirror's Newsboy selections, to decide where you put your hard earned cash on. My tip: every horse 'twitboy' states you should furmly LAY! The worst punter of English history he is, and you only have to read his writing to understand he's a fruitcake. Sound harsh? Not really, he is living in fantasy land, but seems that the Mirror can't get a real punter in. I've changed to the Daily Star, much better
