This is a nicely made, robust looking cable with as others have noted, a fairly rigid braided outer on the length of the cable. It works a treat. I chose it purely on price, but whilst I wouldn't contemplate paying the ludicrous list price for this product it is clearly not a cheap knock-off (like a lot of the stuff I buy!). I tried this with 720p with my TV and also 1920x1080p on a computer monitor and it worked beautifully - I guess this means it does work as "category 2" but I'm not an expert so couldn't swear to it. The only reasons I would consider a different HDMI lead are if...
- I want a shorter one. Yes it's 2.4m long, which is what I wanted. - I want black connectors to look more discreet on a visible cable. The grey is quite tasteful actually and much better than the zany colours which seem to come with "premium" cables. - I want flexibility. Not ideal for this. In every other case, this item is spot on. Thanks!

the cable is of very high quality, sturdy and strong. Much better than what I bought earlier from Best Buy for my friend. For a similar quality high street sellers charge way too high. This one is bought at a bargain price from amazon. I am using it to connect my laptop to my HDTV.
