I agree with Wayne's review of 20 Nov 2010. Initially I didn't think the pump worked at all as my tyres were already pumped to about 35 psi and after many many pumpstrokes the gauge didn't move. I let all the air out and then the pumped up to about 35 psi ok. This pump is ok as a light weight (it weighs 5 ozs) emergency pump but you need an easier one at home. I really struggled to pump the (hybrid type) tyres above 40 psi. Also I found it worked better with schrader valves than presta ones - the gauge seemed to be more temperamental with presta valves.
After struggling to pump a tyre up to 35-40 with this pump I then used an old fashioned barrel pump with a flexible tube and pumped it up to 45 psi relatively easily. The flexible tube means there's no stress on the valves and you can pump much quicker. Why are manufacturers persisting in making these rigid pumps when the old barrel types are much easier?????

Just received this from amazon (offciial seller) and am delighted. However cheap it was it still does everything i require. Yes its a bit of an effort to pump up a tire at the top end of its pressure range but its a mini-pump at the end of the day! The guage is very useful even though you have to stop pumping to look and it works perfectly on my presta valve!
One downside is that the holder holds the pump to the side of the frame rather than on top but this is because its designed to sit under a bottle holder if you want. Mine is attatched to the vertical post and its no trouble to pedal!
5*

I've got a hybrid bike & i ride both off-road and on-road and i have always hated that i've had to guess at how pumped up my tyre's were lol
my pump broke not too long ago so i was in desperate need of a new one, and saw this one with a gauge for a really cheap price!

i bought it expecting it to be ALOT of effort to pump up a tyre with a mini pump, BUT this is a 2-way pump, so it pumps on both strokes of the pump (both in & out) so pumping is an absolute breeze.

The gauge as well is incredibly helpful and accurate! Since pumping my tyre's to the recommended PSI (written on all tyre's) i have found my ride to be MUCH more enjoyable and even quicker too.

definitely recommend this pump to everyone!

Bought this as cycle did not come with pump.
Fits on frame but easily knocked off.Small and compact however just manages to pump up tyre with a lot of effort and pinched fingers.
Only adequate if you must have a small pump.

This is a very disappointing product and you'll be spending more hard earned cash to replace it pretty soon. It works OKish for the first 3 or 4 times, but even then it's hard work!! After that it's just impossible and starts to leak. You can tighten what bits on the pump you can, but it gets worse and worse. To add to this frustration this will cause you to try harder and harder and in the end could cause more trouble! ie trying so hard to get just enough air in resulted in me ripping the valve off the inner tube, and that was while I was still reasonably calm!!

I don't usually write reviews for product but I felt it was important to write for this, seeing as a friend bought one for himself and me.
The product looks good and feels nice, it carries itself well on the mount. I'm not complaining about any of that because I only use it in case of emergencies and guess what?...it let me down.
After some struggle it seemed to fit the valve decently and although it took ages to pump, it seemed ok.
Although moving on to the next wheel the little handle which air tightens the valve fell straight off. Trust me, I didn't use any extensive force on it at all and to be honest I am not the strongest of all chaps. It was frustrating annoying seeing as I am stuck with one flat wheel and broken pump I spent my hard earned money on.

All I can say is that although I like beto, please invest in a more expensive and more importantly reliable piece of kit instead of this rubbish because it will let you down when you need it the most.

This pump is ten and a half inches long and weighs 5 ozs. As other reviewers have said, would take a lot of time and effort to inflate a flat tyre, on the other hand its good for emergencies and small enough to take on any journey. Better than no pump!!

It seems well made and I found it locked on to my valves ok. The gauge can be seen when pumping up the tyre, so long as the wheel is rotated so the valve is at the top.

The bike frame mount supplied with the pump includes bolts and is designed to fit under any bottle cage you may have fitted and using the same mount holes. That is why the pump sits to one side of the mount.

Good value for a 'get you home' accessory.

We bought this pump as it was small and cheap. We don't own any other pumps so it was intended to be the main pump. For the money this pump is excellent, it is lightweight and easy to use. The gauge is a bonus, very easy to read while the pump is in use and it seems reasonably accurate. We have three Mountain bikes with the tyres running at 45 psi, and the pump can do a flat tyre to 45psi in around 2 minutes.

The only downside that we have found is that there were no instructions on how to change between the two different valves, but we soon found this out through trial and error.

Overall I would recomend this pump as an emergency carry with you pump and also a light use at home pump.

By the way, we are going to get another two of these to fit on the other bikes we have.
