Nice sound, great melodies, good songwriting,
By Jayy Mannon "Jayy" (Glam, Wales) - See all my reviews

This album captures the listener from the start, it sort of draws you in and is instantly calming, a great album to chill out to after a stress-filled day. The melodies are great, virtually every song is catchy and will be with you for days even after only one listen. The album is full of well-written tunes combined with good melodies and a great croaky-style voice, the overall effect works really well and the album flows majestically from one track to the next. Although this album is excellent there are a couple of dodgy tracks near the end of the album which really prevents the album from being of 5-star standard. I disagree completely with a previous reviewer, this is exactly what the british music industry needs, a band that writes and performs their own stunning ballads, what we dont need are more talentless pop groups and artists that emerge from talent shows and then disapear within 3 months, this group are here to stay.

Beautiful debut!,

I bought this album on the strength of their single 'Let it out' and because it came out as an Amazon recommendation for me (another bulls-eye for my music collection!) and I have not been disappointed.
The songs (often guitar based) contain some beautiful lyrics and arrangements and all the songs have an immediate impact. I think Ben's Brother are going to be very big...I hope so. I agree with the other reviewers - there are echoes of both the Stereophonics and Keane in terms of style, and the lead vocalist's voice does sound reminiscent of Rod Stewart. But in spite of this, Ben's Brother have very much their own sound! Highlights on the album for me are the delicate and beautiful 'Bad Dream' and, of course 'Let it out'. I highly recommend this!!!

Heard this group play one track a while ago on TV & so I pre-ordered the cd, (which when it eventualy came out after several date changes) I was not dissapointed with it.
I love the album, only one thing the tracks seems so familiar that I feel I have been listening to it for ages (not a bad thing). The sound very much reminds me of Rod Stewart and Stereophonics. I love to play this really loudly, it has some great tracks.
