5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music from Zoot 3 Mar 2012
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I remember Zoot Money in the 60s. Although Georgie Fame seemed to have the ascendancy, Zoot's band was as good I think. I hadn't heard any Zoot Money since that time and when I played the first few tracks on the CD I wonderd if I had made the correct choice. Zoot with strings? Ballads? Once we got to track 6 I became more animated and Big Time Operator took me right back to those heady days of Rhythm and Blues Bands of the 60s. Then Zoot gets into a James Brown groove and for those of us who were around then this was memory lane gone wild. Zoot's rendition of Jimmy Smith's "The Cat" is probably even better. Great Hammond music. The latter tracks were really what I was anticipating and I thoroughly enjoyed this musical trip into my past. If you were around at the time and remember the man himself, then you will not be disappointed with this album
