I got this book through Amazon in the year 2000 for $17.95 even though it was published in 1994. And I haven't seen a book specializing in accounting/finance resumes since. I'll summarize what's good about this book for people right now and what is not special.
What is good is that you can see a handful of accounting and finance resumes all at once and use them to pull key words and phrases. That alone might make it worth getting for some people. That is where the value will be.
But the emphasis in all these resumes is to show progressive responsibility. These resumes were all ideal resumes, where individuals show a regular progression. Statistically, it is impossible for everyone to climb the pyramid since it gets narrower on the way up, so these resumes don't apply to most people.
What is not special is the rest of the book. The biggest disappointment was the tiny section on career changers, so if you're changing your career to accounting from something else, you won't get help here. That section was useless with very general advice that nobody in the midst of a change would require.
The cover letter section was filler in my opinion. You'd do better getting a book on writing cover letters. I think the student resumes and the interview section were equally disappointing. Honestly, I had the impression from the start that all those chapters were there to make the book lengthier.
