Big fan of Axel but don't see the point of best of albums by anyone as you have probably got all the tracks and could make your own compilation ,would be more tempting to buy if they were live or different unreleased versions of the songs

It seems fairly spurious, but the official reason for this best of release is to mark the 10th anniversary of the Axel Rudi Pell band's current line-up. If this were true, however, then there wouldn't be two tracks from the "Oceans Of Time" album, which not only came out eleven years ago, but had a different lineup. The more cynical among us will wonder about sales figures and an upcoming tour with Heaven & Hell.
It might have made more sense to realise that it's actually the 20th anniversary of his solo debut, and do the whole best of thing properly, but maybe that's just me. Or possibly, after three big selling ballad albums, Herr Pell wants to remind us that he knows how to rock. Now, I've always been a fan, so am happy to give his rocking props, and the music on offer here is mighty fine. However, there is nothing here that fans won't already have, so I assume this will be getting pitched heavily at the Dio-era Black Sabbath audience who will be catching Axel Rudi Pell live, possibly for the first time. The twelve tracks here, come right up to date with 'Ain't Gonna Win' from last years "Tales Of The Crown", and I spent a very pleasant hour reminding myself of some great tunes. So if you have missed out on the Axel Rudi Pell experience, then give this a listen. You'll discover a world of excellent melodic power metal.

I had not owned a cd by this group prior to now, and was I surprised. This has a little bit of everything in it. If you like the 80's type of rock then this is for you. Some songs have a slower tempo and most of them just get after it with good heavy riffs and killer vocals.YOU NEED TO BUY THIS NOW!!!!!!

This is my 4th ARP purhcase and I am liking their music more and more. I normally don't like covers as they usually are inferior to the original but the covers on this cd are a fun listen. I intend to pick up more of the earlier stuff as I am really enjoying the last 3 cd's he's put out. If you liekd 80's rock you will like ARP.
