Book Description

Pointless Conversations: The Best of Issues 1-6

Packed with cartoon laughs, stupid ideas and the utterly ridiculous, this compilation of extracts from the first six issues features the best of Pointless Conversations, as well as some fresh material. The hand-picked topics discussed by the two loveable idiots involve:

Is Superman a cowardly alien? (taken from Superheroes)

Is Back to the Future's Doc Brown a time travelling psychopath? (taken from Doctor Emmet Brown)

What is an ionising bulb, and does it actually harness the power of “awesomeness”? (taken from Lightbulbs and Civilisation)

The “evil” Maid Marion, and is a fish in the neck, funny? (taken from The Expendables)

Is it really dangerous for pregnant women to sit down? (taken from The Fifth Element)

Is using the toilet on Star Trek's Holodeck, bad for your health? (taken from The Big One)

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny 16 July 2012

You have to at least know what is being talked about... but it is funny! Some of the comments are a bit strong, so beware! Nevertheless a very light and funny read, perfect for train journeys and if you need a laugh.

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh 9 Dec. 2012

Webcomics are pretty much an artform in themselves, with their own style and structure that sets them apart from other types of cartoon. Pointless Conversations is not the best example of this form. It's not so much the poor cousin of things like The Oatmeal so much as the guy crashing on the poor cousin's couch for a few days until he gets enough cash together for a hostel. The format is simple: two heads talk about pointless stuff, like why Superman is an a-hole and why Doc Brown was almost psychotically casual with Marty McFly's safety. It's OK. It goes on a bit. Looks nice though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just funny 7 Sept. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
You know those weird little conversations characters on tv and film sometimes have like who would win between spiderman and bigfoot. This is a book of those strange pointless arguments about odd things. Loved the poo on the holistic one. Not particularly long but it gives you a good idea of what the books are like

3.0 out of 5 stars Good 2 Jun. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I tried to understand as much as I can from the book but it has a lot of tough words in there that I don't understand, but eventually I got it by searching on the dictionary.
Except for that I think it was a really nice book telling you more information like why not to sit down if you are or pregnant.

Good grief, exactly WHAT did I 'buy' (it was free)? IF you've seen the pointless conversations episodes 1-6 and understood them - well done! Me? Not a cat in hell's chance of going any further than the first few pages. A complete waste of time.

3.0 out of 5 stars Definitely pointless 14 Sept. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Didn't enjoy this even though I am clued up on Superman, Back to Future & Star Trek. I gave three stars for illustrations but content was totally pointless & a complete waste of time. Doesn't make me want to read the other books either.

3.0 out of 5 stars a Good way to pass the time 24 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book I well put together, and is mildly amusing. The creators should feel proud of the work they have done here. While it is not a book with massive re-readability (if that's even a word) I enjoyed my time reading it.

3.0 out of 5 stars a good chuckle for sure 21 Jun. 2014
By Stephen
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It was definitely a humorous read, no question, don't know if I'd get a whole book of this though. If it left you in stitches then go ahead but I can't honestly say it is the funniest book I've ever read.
