Eurodisco from France 28 April 2007
By Pieter HALL OF FAME TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
In and around 1978 Patrick Juvet scored well on the disco charts in Europe and the USA with his huge club hits Got A Feeling, Ou Sont Les Femmes? and I Love America, from the album Got A Feeling.

Unlike the Munich Sound of Giorgio Moroder/Frank Farian or fellow Frenchman Cerrone's style of Eurodisco, the sound was quite funky, in fact I think it was highly Bee Gees influenced: the same jittery uptempo beat, disco strings and falsetto vocals.

I found it quite charming back then and it's still a pleasure to give it a spin now and then although it's probably become somewhat of an obscurity. This album should be listened to when you have a disco party with a soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever, Donna Summer, Grace Jones, Michael Zager's Let's All Chant, Cerrone's Supernature and Giorgio's From Here To Eternity.

another ..........best of 7 Aug 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
if "Paris by night" and "l'enfant aux cheveux blanc" weren't on this cd i would'nt have bothered buying it ! the record label had been better off releasing his earlier recordings such as "love" "mort ou vif" or "paris by night"...but they decided on another best of, go fugure....

been a juvet fan since 1973 and i do not consider him as a "disco" artist because he only released 2 or 3 albums that were dance/disco oriented. his early works from the early 70's were very original and creative. he was one of the first artists to collaborate with jean-michel jarre and the outcome was awesome ! as the title says this is mainly a disco cd, most of the tracks are from either "lady night" or " i love america", i would have preferred they were remixed but.... "ca c'est paris" the new single is great, but where is "rester cool " ?

what can i say ? i guess this cd is going to have to do, until juvet decides to release some new material.....which is long overdue !

WOW 23 Feb 2004

Patrick was never really appreciated as much as he should have been during the disco era and that's a shame since he was one of the best. This Cd will prove why, pretty well every song a winner!
