4.0 out of 5 stars The Best Of Goldfinger - Singles Collection, 17 Jul 2005
By Chris C "manxdude87" (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
It is pretty ironic that despite in the linear notes about Benji Madden appearing at a Goldfinger concert as a teenager, later on Benji and his Brother went on to become bigger stars than Goldfinger. Of course, John and co have never tried to reinvent the wheel, and for the sake of being quite corny, that's a good thing.

This is Goldfinger's first 'Best of' record and hence it's the perfect introduction for the new listener. Beginning appropriately with the popular 'Here in Your Bedroom', this is simple pop punk fun that all the Good Charlotte fans could enjoy.

Mixing catchy pop tunes like the idiotically delightful 'Mable', some ska greats like 'Superman', sing-a-long anthems like crowd favourite 'Counting the Days' to the anger rant on the 'in-your-face' attitude of 'Open Your Eyes', the first thirteen tracks are worth the price alone.

The DVD was the thing that drew my attention to this and it is absolutely brilliant featuring just about every song released from 1996 - 2002. The only problem I find is the DVD lacks videos by Spokesman and San Simeon, but what the heck there is some funny little extras as a little treat.

As John says in his notes 'The wrath of the mighty Goldfinger is far from over...', that could be questionable but if it does end here, this is how they should be remembered, veterans of the classic pop punk song.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING, 4 Oct 2005
By Steven Powell (Wales) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I love this album. I heard of Goldfinger, as a lot of people did, through the Tony Hawks game. I heard Superman and i'd always sing along to it. I had this for my birthday two days ago and, because i am a vegetarian my favourite song is Open Your Eyes. My vegan friend also likes this song and we try and force out views on people although we shouldn't and now we have Goldfingers help hahahaha. I reccomend this album to anyone who has only just discovered Goldfinger, as it gives the best songs of their career.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not Great, 11 May 2005
Me, as a wonderful Goldfinger fan thought, 'Ooh, I've got all the albums but I'll get this one anyway, its got some new(ish) tracks'
Its all good, but a bit disappointed with
1. The choice of songs (where the hell is Stalker!? Best track ever)
2. Choice of new songs... 'The Innocent'... How I loathe this track.
But with the old favourites 'superman' and 'spokesman' this makes great listening for anyone, New to Goldfinger or not.
If you don't buy this album... you must listen to it before you die, to get the Goldfinger experience.
