Nice Gershwin Compilation, here's a better track list!

Format:Audio CD
This is a good little Gershwin collection, copyrighted & licensed in 1992 from Mediaphon-Germany. The 3-CD set here is a full digital remastering (DDD format) that sounds great. We bought ours as soon as it was released by Madacy and have enjoyed it immensely. The European orchestras and pianists deliver Gershwin's works competently and expressively. The famously moody "Summertime" opens Disc 2 and is rendered true; it is repeated again on track 7 in a poignant, moody variation. Both renditions are absolutely breath-catching.
There are no vocals in these recordings, all are instrumentals. Some are interesting new arrangements, some are backed up by good synthesizer work that provides the percussion as well as rhythm. This set is a keeper - it has been on our shelf and in use for 8 years now.
We thought this set deserved a better, more detailed description and track listing than Amazon's (no apologies!), so we added it here for you - ENJOY!
