just like in real life,
By
This review is from: Best Friends or Not? (Paperback)
Lovely story about the friendship between 2 polar bears. The story finishes as it started, and in the middle the two go solo only to get back together stonger and happier. I liked the way the author brings alive the different personalities of the bears: the bold and adventurous one who wants to explore other games, while the other bear is content to play snowballs all the time. Paeony Lewis explores real emotions, such as frustration, discord, loneliness, friendship. I particularly liked the way Suka's snowball, which hits Nanook's nose, was one snowball too many and that this was the trigger for Nanook and Suka falling out. That's so true to life! But just as it should be, the end is a happy one and the 2 bears realize they missed each other and that friendship isn't one sided.

A Timeless Story...,

We have followed author Paeony Lewis for several years and were excited to see her latest book. We weren't disappointed. This is a sweet book about what it takes to be a friend. And the tale is wrapped up in delightful illustrations as we watch two polar bears work out the challenge of 'who gets to pick the games to play?'
If you have a child who always wants to be the one to pick what he and his friends are doing or if you have a child who has a friend that never wants to play the games she wants, this book may help them to have more fun with their friends and less strife. With Christmas around the corner, this book will make a lovely surprise under your Christmas tree for your child!
