In its day a good compilation though it is missing "This Time We'll Get it Right" and has the wrong version of "Nice One Cyril". Some might argue "World Cup Willie" should have been included.
There is no definitive CD as of yet.

Usual mix of good stuff and dross. Some I do not understand why are there and have never heard them on the terraces. Still good songs though. Use some for running songs.

Better than the second collection! 5 Sept. 2000
By Stacey - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is a very nice collection of songs! But it should start at the second track, that's what New Order is good for, eh? Found the second CD at Virgin 2 years ago, and was really happy to get this first CD from Amazon UK this winter. To the other reviewer- Vindaloo is on the second collection, called "All New the best footie anthems..." I don't think it's on Amazon US yet. Really great, wonderful, fun to listen to, even better to sing with in the car...you know how it goes. Here is a track listing for you, because I hate when they leave them off: We Are The Champions - Queen; World In Motion - Englandneworder; Three Lions - Baddiel and Skinner and Lightning Seeds; Back Home - England 1970 World Cup Squad; Match Of The Day - Offside; The Life Of Riley (As featured on "Match Of The Day") - Lightning Seeds; Fog On The Tyne - Gazza & Lindisfarne; Anfield Rap (Red Machine In Full Effect) - Liverpool F.C.; You'll Never Walk Alone - Gerry & The Pacemakers; Wonderwall - Oasis; Sportsnight - Tony Hatch; Belfast Boy - Don Fardon; Come On You Reds - The Manchester United 1994 Football Squad; Move Move Move (The Red Tribe) - 1996 Manchester United F.A. Cup Squad; Ooh Aah Cantona - 1300 Drums; Grandstand - Keith Mansfield; Football Crazy - Robin Hall & Jimmy MacGregor; Alright - Supergrass; Parklife - Blur; Blue Is The Colour - Chelsea F.C.; Diamond Lights - Glenn (Hoddle) & Chris (Waddle); Ossie's Dream (Spurs Are On Their Way To Wembley) - Tottenham Hotspur 1981 F.A. Cup Final Squad with Chas & Dave; Nice One Cyril - Cockerel Chorus; Nessun Dorma; Ode To Joy; Always Look On The Bright Side of Life - Monty Python. Anyway...there it is, you will agree, good music all around. Enjoy-
It IS creative enough, it IS positive enough... 19 Jun. 2000

File it perhaps under guilty pleasure material, but this collection of footie anthems is truly spot-on - in fact, its one shortcoming, if one is to be found, is the omission of the greatest footie anthem of all time, Fat Les' 1998 classic "Vindaloo" (this collection came out in 1996, mind, so perhaps it's not really a shortcoming after all).
New Order's "World in Motion" still gets me revved up ten years on, and "Three Lions" brings back memories of Euro 96 - and is getting quite a bit of play in my own CD player at the moment with England's having triumphed over Germany this past weekend. And even though "Parklife" wasn't written as a football anthem, it fits in so very well here. Inspiring stuff, whether you're about to kick off yourself or just take in the match of the week. If only Gareth Southgate could have been on goal as this collection...

These CDs are brilliant.
I also recently heard about one which is raising money for charity, which I heard on the radio. It really is one of the best football anthems I have come across - keep an ear out for it, because it will be big.
It is by Dexter and called "New World Cup" and all profits are going to Sport Relief! Apparently it has a UK website too.
COOL.
