Straight out of the box and these ooze quality. Matt black grips, Semi-Matt black shafts edged with glossy black cutting edges. But appearance isn't everything..

Each is supplied with a blade cover to reduce risk of accidents. A requirement for these blades that are razor sharp and appear to stay that way. They carved through all the vegetables for our Christmas meal with absolute ease. 12 days, meals, washes later and no hint of a reduction in cutting ability or their fine looks.

Handles are well balanced and, at least for a right handed person, very ergonomically designed. Smooth finish with good sized depression for your thumb. This allows for extra pressure to be applied safely. Not that you need anywhere near as much as when using a steel blade - they sliced through large carrots as if they were par-boiled.

The blades are dishwasher safe although can't be washed with protective covers on. All members of the family need to be made aware that these blades are extremely sharp and grabbing a handfull by the blades is likely to cause injury.

Blade cutting edge lengths and weights: 73mm (32g), 100mm (36g) and 126mm (52g)
For storage the longest knife is 244mm (with protective cover fitted).

The packing box is just a little large to store three knives (270x160x31mm) but is well constructed, has nice cutouts for each knife and a good, strong, magnetic catch. Because I don't want the children using these they will be kept in the box and out of sight!

I can't find fault with this ceramic knife set and they fully deserve all 5 stars. I think they will last a lifetime and are exceptional value for money ( I paid £40).

Very sharp and stay that way, I think thats the benefit of ceramic the down side is they will snap or chip if you try to open rather than cut things. It's worth paying a little more than steel blades if like me you are absolutely hopeless at using a sharpener
