Format:Audio CD
It's very difficult to do a 'Best Of' album when the wealth of material available means that some favourites are bound to be left out. What makes it doubly difficult for a group like Bent is that they changed their musical sound from the sample-laden Programmed to Love to organic Ariels and back again (Intercept) and they did so successfully.
The commercial releases such as Swollen and Beautiful Otherness, used on countless compilations, are all present and if you don't own all of the albums this is a great place to start. What makes this compilation special is the inclusion of the stunning previously download-only track 'Bewitched' and the previously vinyl-only B-side KISSES which is my own favourite. (KISSES did appear on a CD compilation a few years ago which is where I first discovered Bent).
As for the music itself it's intelligent, thoughtful, downtempo, melodic and summery. Gorgeous vocals from wonderful singer songwriter Zoe Johnston (Happenstances) give Bent their edge. I really hope that Bent continue to make music and that this Best Of compilation doesn't mean the end.

First off, one week on after its release I'm really surprised nobody has reviewed this, so I'll do it and I'll keep it short and sweet...
Basically, Disc One is a round up of Bent's various singles and is a seamless 66 minutes of melody/beats/atmospherics.
Disc Two is 40 minutes of new stuff and is utterly sublime.
For anyone that favours melodies above anything else in ANY type of music,
this will be a mandatory purchase....Thats all I'll say, the rest is up to you people.

An absolutely perfect selection of their finest tunes - but quite a few new ones that you probably won't have heard, making this a must purchase! It's like being wrapped up in a caramel flavoured sonic pillow.
Their songs are positive, upbeat and amazingly atmospheric, but most importantly they are consistently brilliant. How often can you say that about a dance/trip-hop act? This is the only band that can make me smile on the dreary journey to work.
If you like this, also get their 2CD "The Art Of Chill 5" mix, which features "The Bulgarian State Radio & Television Female Vocal Choir" - which I kid you not is one of the most beautiful choir pieces I've ever heard.

It is the best
I have all Bent albums and this is great compliation and new tracks on CD2 and fab... well worth buying for Cd 2. fanastic band - one of my all time favourites..
