Product Description

Product Description

Another annus horribilissimus for Alex, although the new coalition government offers a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel and bankers are 'allowed' to claim bonuses again. Alex and his ilk are not quite viewed as the lowest-of-the-low any more.

This is a compilation of the Alex cartoons is published in the Daily Telegraph between mid-2010 and mid-2011. Despite it being called "the best of", I believe that it contains most, if not all the cartoons in that time period.

As always, the printing is of good quality and good size. However, the actual cartoons don't seem as funny this year compared to previous years. Maybe it's because the topics covered are similar to previous years, and the treatment is only slightly different. Maybe because it's slightly more cynical than previously, in an age when the bankers reputations have gone even more downhill. I don't know. It just doesn't seem quite the vintage year that this annual usually is.

Always reliably cynical and bang up to date. I've been buying these books for over 10 years and it helps to get the economy into perspective to reread old ones from time to time! Clever and funny, consistent and topical. If you liked the others you'll like this.
