Really if anyone is prepared to take advice from a customer who has actually bought papa roach and deftones then thy don't deserve an album like this. But the Best Album in the World Ever is frankly a godsend. This was the music that got it all started for me- I was 12-13 when the Britpop stuff kicked off and it was the first time that I actually found an interest in music. And what music it was- even bands that I was never fond of like Blur, Suede and Radiohed made great music. Its become almost a crime to embrace 'britpop' nowadays, with just about every best of album trying to distance themselves from the 'genre'. I loved it, and despite my interests now lying mainly in 60's soul and R&B records this stuff still has an indefinable magic to it. Maybe you had to be there. Maybe you had to be having a really good time to fully appreciate this stuff. But at least the artists were not trying to make introspective statements, just catchy songs that defined an era. Glorious.

With Pulp at their best, Radiohead in their prime and the best Oasis song ever on this album, we see an almost perfect documentation of britpop's glory days, which will hopefully return before these American metal bands begin to suffocate the future Thom Yorke's and Noel Gallaghers

The BITW...E! was a great series of Britpop CD compilations....i bought them to take me right back to the carefree mid-Nineties! All of them contain the more successful 7" singles (remember them?!) of the day by the cream of British talent (and the odd US band) and yes, there are a couple of dodgy tracks on each one but you can't please all of the people all of the time. Great price on Used CDs and fast delivery as usual from Zoverstocks....the whole series cost me less than a tenner!

Back in the 90s I owned this on double cassette. It is great to see it in CD form. I am still loving the tunes! Brings back lots of memories...
